Here in Jer. 23, we find exactly the same thing clear back in the days of Jeremiah. It seems to be that ever since the Garden of Eden and the proliferation of the human race, there’s also been a proliferation of prophets and the power of Satan the devil.
So, here we have in Jer. 23, now we’ve been there before, but it’s very important for us to grasp it, because it’s going to come down pretty soon. We will know how close to the end that we are when this happens! That is when the False Prophet arises and performs miracles. The whole world is going to see it and know about it. This is going to result in a coming together of all religions under the Roman Catholic Church. This applies today, and it is interesting how absolutely perfect the Word of God is. And as Helmet said—message: Return to the Faith Once Delivered—it is the Word of God from the God of Truth. That’s why we are Scripturalists, because we don’t take any of the teachings of the traditions of men or of nominal Christianity and especially Catholicism.
Jer. 23—This was at a time just before Jerusalem was to be destroyed for the second time and the people then sent off into Babylon for 70 years. There were prophets there saying to them:
Oh, no, no, no, you’re not going to go into captivity. Nebuchadnezzar is never going to take Jerusalem; no, you don’t have to worry about anything.
Well, what happened? Nebuchadnezzar took it, he burned it to the ground, he destroyed the second temple!
Jeremiah 23:9: “As for the prophets... [all the false prophets] ... my heart within me is broken; all my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome because of the LORD and because of the words of His Holiness.”
They are so good, they are so great, and that’s what needs to be preached:
that we love God
that we keep His Commandments
that we do His Truth
that we follow by every Word of God,
same thing today!
Verse 10: “For the land is full of adulterers....”
Today, it’s not only adulterers and adulteresses, it is Sodom and Gomorrah and transgenderism! Absolutely false, absolutely satanic, right out in the open!
Verse 11: “‘For both prophet and priest are ungodly...’”
Now, let’s put a little bit of this to test. Today, because Sodom and Gomorrah is being promoted, especially in the Democrat Party, and in the education and the universities, and the education starts in kindergarten! They want to start transgenderizing the kids in public school. So, let’s put it to the test!
Jesus said this, and I want you to think carefully on it, ‘By taking thought, you cannot change one hair white or black, nor can you by taking thought add a cubit to your height. Now then, transgenderism is insanity and perversion of the mind and sexuality! In other words, straight from Sodom and Gomorrah! So, it would do everyone well to read there in Gen. 19 what God did to Sodom and Gomorrah!
They were all turned to ashes, because they were doing the same thing that we see happening here. When the two angels came in and visited Lot and told him, get ready to leave, the men came around and said, ‘Oh, let these two men—they thought the angels were men—come out here that we may pervert them.’ That’s what they meant. So, the only way to stop the riot...
Do we have riots today by these people who think that they can change sex?
Do we not have assassinations taken by those who say, ‘I’m in transition from male to female’?
Listen!
IF you can’t change one hair
IF you can’t add to your stature
what makes all these liars:
scientists
religionists
politicians
professors
counselors of people
think that they can change the very genes in their bodies?
Now, they may be able to alter a few things with surgery, but a man is a man and a woman is a woman, and God made it that way!
The whole Sodom and Gomorrah approach to the whole thing is absolute insanity! That’s what we’re facing right now. We’re also facing—with the false prophets and the teachings of nominal Christianity and Catholicism, and other religions—a return to Satanism big time religiously and morally by all of the things that are going on!
So, we have not only just a flood of lies, but it’s coming like waves of the ocean, one after the other.
Verse 10: “For the land is full of adulterers. Because of swearing the land mourns...”
Remember this, our behavior can affect the environment! Now, a lot of people wouldn’t think so, but it does.
“...the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and they wield power unjustly” (v 10).
Think about this for a minute. It says there a little later in Ezekiel that God was looking for one man to help straighten things out for a time before He destroyed Jerusalem.
We have much the same thing here today. in the person of Donald Trump. Doesn’t mean he’s converted. Nebuchadnezzar was never converted. But to do the will of God to align all the nations in the end-time the way that God wants them. There may come a short time of peace, but that’s going to all collapse! Here we find the source of all of this:
Verse 11: “‘For both prophet and priest are ungodly... [Are they not? You watch it on television! You look at anyone!]...yea, in My house...”
Today that’s the Church of God. There are many Churches of God. Some of them hold to the Truth pretty good. Some of them have strange doctrines.
“...‘I have found their evil,’ says the LORD” (v 11).
When that was discovered in the Church of God, what did He do to it? He scattered it, and then He destroyed the largest Church of God in history because of sin!
Verse 12: “‘So their way shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in their way; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their judgment,’ says the LORD.”
So, all the Protestants, all of the Catholics, all of the religionists who think that they can tell God
which day to worship on
that His Sabbath is outlawed
that His laws do not have any viability
that they can live any way they want to
that they can change sex, man become a woman, woman become a man
They can’t! Year of their judgment. So, we are headed toward that!
Verse 13: “And I have seen repulsive things in the prophets of Samaria... [that was the northern ten tribe capital] ...they prophesied by Baal and caused My people Israel to go astray.”
We’ll look at that in a minute today. We have one of the greatest events of Baal worship that happens every year, December 25th, so-called ‘Christmas.’ Jesus was never born December 25th. All of that goes back to ancient pagan Babylon!

All of those things are Baal worship! What does it do?
“...they prophesied by Baal and caused My people Israel to go astray. I have also seen in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing; they commit adultery and walk in lies....” (vs 13-14).
it is a lie to say that Sunday is now the day of worship
it is a lie to say that God accepts homosexuality and transgenderism
it is a lie to say that Easter and the holidays are the days of God
“...They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none returns from his evil; they are all of them like Sodom to Me, and her inhabitants like Gomorrah” (v 14).
Just like we have said, this is a prophecy. Now, understand that this is 2,600 years old, but prophesied not only of the events at that time, but are a projection for the events at our time!
Verse 15: “Therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets, ‘Behold, I will feed them wormwood, and make them drink poisonous water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone forth into all the land.’”
America contains many of the remnants of the so-called lost ten tribes of Israel. They’re not lost, and they’re not bred into the Jews! We are the end-time, so these verses fit absolutely perfectly. All of those who claim they are a Christian, have the Bible, but they don’t follow it! They have in the Bible all the Holy Days of God, including the true Passover of God, when? which day? That was the day that Jesus was crucified on!
They have it, but they don’t keep it. God says His judgment is coming! So, here’s the advice for everyone today: IF you belong to a Protestant denomination, or IF you are accounted as:
a ‘Catholic’
a hard-shell ‘Baptist’
you’re in any other religion
makes no difference!
Verse 16: “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you vain; they speak a vision from their own heart, not out of the mouth of the LORD.’”
That’s what’s important! The Word of God is the Word of God, and it is the Truth of God, and this is what everyone who is a pastor, teacher, elder, whatever, we are to teach the Word of God, and the Word of God alone!
Verse 17: “‘They [the prophets] still say to those who despise Me.’....”
Everyone who says, ‘We go to church on Sunday, we keep Christmas, Easter, New Years, all of those things.

you’re despising the true Jesus Christ.
“...‘The Lord has said...’” (v 17).
Here’s what they preach: ‘Oh, you shall have peace. Won’t it be nice when all religions get together, and all wars have been stopped?’ That day’s coming!
Are you going to be deceived in that? That will happen!
What are you going to do?
Have you ever looked in the mirror and asked yourself:
Who am I?
What am I?
What am I going to do?
Where is God?
Why did He make me?
What should I do?
Well, God says, ‘The first thing to start with is to seek God:
seek Him in Truth
seek Him in repentance
Repentance is an abhorrence of all the sins that you’ve been living with, and you need those forgiven! But, once they’re forgiven, you must start living God’s way!
That’s what’s important. Here’s what they tell you. You can go to Daystar, you can go to TBN, you can go to any of the religious channels, and here’s what they will say.
“...The LORD has said, ‘You shall have peace!’ And they say to everyone who walks after the imagination of his own heart, ‘No evil shall come upon you!’” (v 17). We’ll see in a minute that’s not true!
Verse 18: “For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD to see and hear His Word?”
That’s what we do at Christian Biblical Church of God.

we live by every Word of God, as Jesus has said
Verse 19[transcriber’s correction]: “Behold, the tempest of the LORD has gone forth...”
So it’s going to come! That’s why we still have all of the trouble and turmoil that we have in America today and in the world, as well.
“...It shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until He has executed and until He has performed the purposes of His heart; in the latter days you shall understand it perfectly” (vs 19-20).
Quite an amazing thing, isn’t it? 2,600 years ago!
Verse 21—He said: “I have not sent these prophets, yet, they ran; I have not spoken to them, yet, they prophesied.”
But God said this, which means to us today, since all of you out there who are preachers and you have the Word of God and you can read the Word of God, that’s what you are to preach in Truth and Righteousness and God will honor it. That’s what He says here:
Verse 22: “But IF they had stood in My counsel and had caused My people to hear My words, THEN they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their doings.” That’s what God wants, so he says:
Verse 23: “‘Am I a God Who is near,’ says the LORD...”
you come to Him
you pray
He will hear
He will answer! And know this:
no one can hide from God
no one can get away from God
no one can go anyplace.
you can’t go to heaven
you can’t go to the depths of the earth and get away from God
Verse 28: “The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream. And he who has My Word, let him speak My Word faithfully....” I want you to listen carefully to it:
individually, do you have a Bible?
individually, as a minister, you probably have more than one Bible
So, you have His Word, and you go out and you preach, and you preach lies! But God expects you to take the Bible and read it and study it because these are words from God, and THEN you teach the words of God, you yourself, as a minister or an elder, whatever church or denomination you are in. IF you’re a Catholic priest, you’ve got a whole lot to repent of!
“...And he who has My Word, let him speak My Word faithfully....” (v 28).

Just like Helmut Burger said, the day’s coming when it’s all going to collapse together, and then at the return of Christ, it’s all going to explode apart!
We will look at what God says about getting a Christmas tree. Did you know Jeremiah talked about a Christmas tree? (Jer. 10). Today, and we’ve seen for quite a while, that everyone’s getting their Christmas trees. Fox News put up their great tree with all of their lights and great celebration. By the way, all of the things that they have on their Fox Nation, saints and everything, that is wholly Catholic doctrine and has nothing to do with the Truth of the Word of God! Here’s what God tells us right here:
Jeremiah 10:1: “Hear the word, which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.”
Now, since you can’t hear His voice personally, He has it all written down and preserved in Truth. That’s why we have the Bible, A Faithful Version, The Holy Bible in Its Original Order, and the only Bible in English that has a correct translation and correct order of the books.
“Hear the word, which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.”

Here’s what God says; first instruction, He says, listen to the words of the Lord. So, IF you want to know what the Lord tells you, what you need to do, here’s the first way.
Verse 2: “Thus says the LORD, ‘Do not...’”
Now when He says do not, He means don’t do it! That’s why the Ten Commandments have:
no murder
no adultery
no stealing
no lying
no false doctrine
no idols
no false gods
Verse 2: “Thus says the LORD, ‘Do not learn the way of the heathen, and do not be terrified at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are terrified at them. For the customs of the people are vain...” (vs 2-3).
In other words, all of the religious things that they do, they think they are doing to God, are in vain, because they’re not according to the Word of God!
Have you ever thought of it that way?
Have you ever read this part of the Bible yourself?
Verse 3: “For the customs of the people are vain; for one cuts a tree out of the forest with the axe...”
They may do it with a saw, as well, but you cut a tree. Everyone thinks if they cut the tree, that’s a wonderful thing:
we’ll put it up
we’ll decorate it
we’ll lie about Santa Claus
we’ll put presents under the tree
We’ll even, we’ll even have father or grandfather come and put their foot in the fireplace and get ashes and put them on the floor to perpetuate the lie to children that Santa Claus comes and brings gifts.
I remember when I was growing up, we go down to the department store, and there was Santa Claus. You get up in his lap, and he would say, ‘Well now, Sonny, what would you like me to bring to you for Christmas? Well, as I said before, we found out that mom bought the gifts at the very store where Santa Claus was, and I discovered them before Christmas! Then I asked her, ‘Isn’t Santa Claus a lie?’ And she said, ‘Well, it’s a white lie.’
So you see, white lies are good to some people. Now notice what they do with the tree:
Verse 4: “They adorn it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and hammers, so that it will not move. They upright like the palm tree, but cannot speak. They must surely be carried because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of them; for they cannot do evil nor good, for it is not in them” (vs 4-5).
Verse 6: “Therefore, there is none like You, O LORD; You are great, and Your name is great in might. Who would not fear You, O King of nations? For fear belongs to You because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like You” (vs 6-7).
Now, isn’t that very interesting? Let’s go on and see what He says here a little later on.
All of this, everything that they do, all of the gifts, all of the hymns, all of the meals, all of the travels,
Verse 8: “But they are altogether foolish and animal-like; the tree is a doctrine of vanities.” Worthless!
Verse 9: “Silver beaten into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the goldsmith. Violet and purple are their clothing; they are all the work of skillful ones. But the LORD is the true God, He is the living God...” (vs 9-10).
Is this Who you want to worship?
How do you worship Him? Jesus said, ‘In Spirit and in Truth’!
What does that mean? Taking the Word of God:
believing it
let it enter into your mind
become part of your thoughts
the way that you live
repent of your sins
be baptized
You see, Christianity today has gotten so far off the beam that they don’t even have true baptism, the few left that baptize.
Verse 10: “But the LORD is the true God, He is the living God, and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to stand His fury.” A description of the coming book of Revelation!
We’ve got the book of Revelation, which tells us all of this. Is that not what God is going to do? Yes, indeed!
Verse 11: “Thus you shall say to them, ‘The gods who have not made the heavens and the earth, they shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.’” Just like Helmut Burger said:
the Jesus they worship is another Jesus
the God that they worship is a false God
Or if they think they’re worshiping the true God
they worship Him with:
false doctrines
false songs
false sayings
“‘...they shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.’ He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by His judgment” (vs 11-12).
Which tells you that everything that there is that you can see and recognize, God has made! All human beings are made in the image of God, male and female!
Verse 14: “Every man is stupid for lack of knowledge...”
Is that not true?
How much knowledge does even the most intelligent person in the world have compared to God? There is no comparison!
Verse 14: “Every man is stupid for lack of knowledge...” Yet:
they make idols
they make rockets
they make planes
they make all kinds of implements of war
“...every refiner is put to shame by the graven image; for his molten image is a lie, and there is no breath in them” (v 14).
Now, notice this. Everything to do with the religions of this world and everything to do with the holidays of this world, here it is, right here.
Verse 15: “They are vanity, the work of delusion...”
Think about that, they are deluded in their thoughts and so locked into their sins! Something happens to your mind when that occurs. Let’s just take a little detour. and come back here to John 8. Let’s see what happens when you believe lies and you reject the true God!
John 8—because the Jews in Jesus day wanted to know Who He is because He was doing so many miracles and preaching and teaching, and people were following him.
John 8:25: “Then they said to Him, ‘Who are You?’ And Jesus said to them, ‘The One that I said to you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge concerning you; but He Who sent Me is true, and what I have heard from Him, these things I speak to the world’” (vs 25-26). Understand this:
the words of God are true always
the words of God, as Jesus said, are Spirit and are Life (John 6).
and these are for us to live by!
Verse 27: “But they did not know that He was speaking to them of the Father. Then Jesus said to them, ‘When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you yourselves shall know that I AM...’” (vs 27-28).
What He’s saying here, ‘When you crucified Me, you will understand that I fulfilled all the prophecies concerning the Messiah, and that I AM. Now, in capital letters, that is a name of God: ‘I AM! That I AM!’ That comes right from the book of Exodus.
“...you yourselves shall know that I AM, and that I do nothing of Myself. But as the Father taught Me, these things I speak. And He Who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone because I always do the things that please Him” (vs 28-29). Think on that!
Do you always do the things that please God?
What are the things that please God?
believe Him
have faith in Him
believe His Word and live by it
Don’t you think those things please God?
Why did He give all of these things?
Why did He give us the choice so we can come to the knowledge of God?
Verse 30: “As He spoke these things, many believed in Him. Therefore, Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him...” (vs 30-31). Now listen carefully!
Do you profess to be a Christian?
Do you profess to know God?
Are you a minister, pastor, elder or priest, whatever?
Verse 31: “Therefore, Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him: “‘If you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples.’”
Reverse it; IF you don’t continue in the words—which is the message of Christ from God the Father—you’re not a Christian. you’re not a disciple of Christ!
Notice what happens when you do it. Because living in a world where there are so many lies and Satan is the ‘god of this world,’ most people don’t even know what’s right or wrong, and they’re left out there trying to figure it out.
So He says, “...‘IF you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples. And you shall know the Truth...’” (vs 31-32).
Is that not what you want?
Isn’t it the Truth?
How can we live without the Truth?
Same thing! Just remember this. Here’s something that applies to everything everywhere! Everything that God has made, everything that men make, IF it is not right, it won’t work! This is what Jesus is saying here.
“...‘IF you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples. And you shall know the Truth...” (vs 31-32).
Do you want to know the Truth of God?
Do you want to know the Truth of salvation?
Do you want to know the Truth of prophecy?
Do you want to understand the God of Truth and Jesus Christ our Savior?
“...and the Truth... [IF you continue in it] ...shall set you free” (v 32).
Well, just like today, a lot of people think ‘we’re Christian.’ No, you’re not! ‘We go to church every Sunday.’ Shame on you! ‘We keep Christmas and Easter and New Year’s and have a great time.’ You’re a pagan!
Verse 33: “They answered Him, ‘We are Abraham’s seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. What do You mean by saying, “You shall become free”?’ Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, truly I say to you,’ everyone who practices sin is a servant of sin” (vs 33-34).
Now, take that one sentence and lay it right out before you and ask yourself the question as you compare how you live with the Ten Commandments, because every Commandment you break is sin!
“...‘Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a servant of sin’” (v 34).
Are you a servant of sin or a servant of God?
Do you believe your own teachings even IF the name of Jesus is attached to it, but it’s not true?
THEN you’re a servant of sin! So, they answered back and said, after Jesus told them:
Verse 35: “And the servant does not live in the house forever; but the Son lives forever. Therefore, IF the Son shall set you free, you shall truly be free” (vs 35-36). That’s what conversion is all about right there.
They said, “...We are Abraham seed?’....” (v 33).
Verse 37: “I know that you are Abraham’s seed...”
Verse 40: “But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has spoken the Truth to you, which I have heard from God; Abraham did not do this. You are doing the works of your father.’....” (vs 40-41). Now think about that for a minute.
“...Then they said to Him, ‘We have not been born of fornication. We have one Father, and that is God.’” (v 41).
Well, they understood about Jesus being born from the virgin Mary. But they didn’t understand what actually happened. So, they said Jesus was born of fornication. “...We have one Father, and that is God” (v 41).
Isn’t that what people say today? But do they? No, they don’t.
Verse 42: “Therefore, Jesus said to them, ‘IF God were your Father, you would love Me.’” Now stop and think about it! Do you love God as Jesus said?
with all your heart
with all your mind
with all your soul
with all your strength
Now that sounds like a pretty full-time situation, does it not? Yes, it is, and that is true! Now, let’s go on and see what happens IF you never come to that point.
Verse 41: “‘You are doing the works of your father.’ Then they said to Him, ‘We have not been born of fornication. We have one Father, and that is God.’ Therefore, Jesus said to them, ‘IF God were your Father, you would love Me, because I proceeded forth and came from God. For I have not come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why don’t you understand My speech?....’” (vs 41-43).
Now, think about it. All of those transgender people, they can’t understand even the basic physical truth that they are totally deluded. Yet, they want to rearrange the whole society to change every way that people believe, think and speak to fit their knowledge of Sodom and Gomorrah, and to fit their lie that they can change genders!
Same thing here. Jesus said, v 43: “Why don’t you understand My speech? Because you cannot bear to hear My words.”
Isn’t that true? They can’t stand any of the words of God spoken by anyone:
they hate God
they hate Christ
they hate the Word of God
they hate the Truth
They want to conform everyone to their ideals of Sodom and Gomorrah and transgenderism, which is right straight out of the cauldron of the depths of Satan the devil.
Verse 44—Jesus said to them: “You are of your father the devil...”
That’s why they can’t hear, because they have hardened their hearts; they have blocked their minds! They have rejected knowledge!
Verse 44: “You are of your father the devil...”
Listen carefully! Where do you get all of these strange evil ideas?
“...and the lusts of your father... (v 44)—the devil; who is deceiving the whole world (Rev. 12:9) Oh! Think about that! So, everyone needs to stop and ask:
What do I believe?
Do I love God?
Do I keep His Commandments?
Do I listen to the words of Christ?
What is it that my life is?
What is it that I’m going to do?
What is the result of it?
All of this permissive sex and everything destroys the mind and enslaves you to Satan?
Then along come all of the perverted religions and they do the same thing.
Verse 44: “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to practice.”
Think about that. Let’s look at one of those sexual practices that is common today by the tens of thousands and millions.
“...He was a murderer from the beginning...” (v 44)
With all the perverted sexual pleasures of sin that people have and that women have, they can now get an abortion with a pill, and every abortion makes you a murderer! Everyone who participates in it at the abortion clinic is a murderer!
I remember seeing a special on the news about a woman in Maine. She was upset because of the things that were going to cause abortion to be limited, and she was angry and ready to go out and vote politically for the perverse satanic party of the Democrats. She said, ‘Because I’m a lesbian and I work in an abortion clinic.’
Are you not an accessory to murder?
Are you not insane and demented because you think that you can become a man?
Verse 44: “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you desire to practice. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the Truth...” Truth is the Word of God!
His Commandments are true
His statutes are true
His precepts are true
His Sabbath is true
His Holy Days are true
His Word is Truth
God—the true God—cannot lie
It’s impossible for Him to lie! and He alone upholds the universe and on the earth has given life to everyone who has it.
“...He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the Truth, because there is no Truth in him” (v 44).
Now this is what we’re facing today. We’ll see it in a minute. with some other prophecies in the book of Psalms.
Listen to all of the stupid justification that the satanic reporters on television and elsewhere say that they take sides with the ‘narco’ people. They take sides with all those who are trying to destroy people and say that killing them and destroying them who are trying to bring in drugs and destroy Americans that you’re doing wrong.
Well, listen, let me tell you something. if you think Trump is doing wrong in that, think what God would do IF He were personally here to execute it. They would be ashes like Sodom and Gomorrah.
“...Whenever he speaks a lie, he is speaking from his own self; for he is a liar, and the father of it” (v 44).
How many lies do I believe? Well, you really won’t know until you get your nose in the Bible and find out!
Verse 45: “And because I speak the Truth, you do not believe Me.”
Isn’t that what happens? Because parents go to the school board and say, we don’t want all the Sodom and Gomorrah practices, taught to our little kids. What do they say? They don’t believe them! Let this be a test for everyone who is listening. The very words of Christ: Especially if you think you are of God. Here’s a test, a one sentence test.
Verse 47: “The one who is of God hears the words of God....”
What do you do, you Sunday-keepers, every time someone asks you, Why don’t you keep the Sabbath? You believe the lie that man has the power to change the Commandments of God. Or whatever the situation may be. Now notice this:
Verse 46: “Which one of you can convict Me of sin? But if I speak the Truth, why don’t you believe Me?”
So, I ask the same question. IF I read the words of God and they are true, and you get angry at me and don’t like it and don’t believe me, why don’t you? Because these words came from God the Father! You want to victimize yourself even more by rejecting the one who is the Sovereign of the whole universe?
Verse 47: “The one who is of God... [listen to this, here’s the measure of your life] ...The one who is of God hears the words of God. For this reason you do not hear, because you are not of God.” Now think about that!
How many people really think they are of God?
How many people think during this Christmas time, the time of the year that Satan the devil is most happy over?
Because he knows that in all of the practices of Christmas, he’s got his arms around the whole world and they believe him!
When they come to the point of believing it so fiercely and so deeply, they refuse to let the Truth of God enter into their mind because they have locked it tight closed, and will not hear! That’s what Jesus is saying. So, you measure yourself!
Verse 47: “The one who is of God hears the words of God. For this reason you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
IF you’re not of God, you’re of Satan the devil. Isn’t that what He said? Yes, indeed! ‘I’m not of Satan the devil. I’m a good person.’ That shows you are of Satan the devil because what does the Bible say of human nature? We’ll look at that in a minute here.
Verse 48: “Then the Jews answered and said to Him, ‘Are we not right in saying that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?’”
Anyone who says, ‘There goes Fred Coulter attacking everybody again. I’m just reading the Word of God! IF that attacks you, too bad.
Are you willing to change?
Are you willing to repent?
What are you willing to do?
Verse 49: “Jesus answered, ‘I do not have a demon. But I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. Yet, I do not seek My own glory; there is One Who seeks and judges’” (vs 49-50).
You want to know about eternal life? Listen carefully to what he says:
Verse 51: “Truly, truly I say to you, if anyone keeps My words...”
that’s why we have Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
that’s why we have prophecies in the Old Testament
this is why we have the book of Acts and all the epistles
So that you have all the words of Christ, those that He spoke and those that He inspired to be written up.
“...he shall not see death forever’ (v 51).
It doesn’t say you won’t die because we all die in Adam, but you won’t see death forever, because IF you come to the point of being converted and have repented and are baptized and received the Holy Spirit, THEN you will be resurrected from the dead.
You don’t have a soul that goes to heaven, and David Jeremiah, though he has a Biblical name, doesn’t understand the Bible, and he can’t tell you the promise of heaven, because he’s talking about a New Heaven and a New Earth.
Jeremiah 17:1: “The sin of Judah...”—that’s all the Jews combined, everywhere, and that applies likewise to anyone who thinks that you belong to God, yet, you’re living in deep sin!
Verse 1: “The sin of Judah is engraved with a pen of iron, with the point of a diamond; it is carved upon the tablet of their heart and upon the horns of your altars.” That means:
you think in the way of sin
you act in the way of sin
you practice sin as a perpetual way of living
Verse 5: “Thus says the LORD, ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man...”
you’ve got to trust in God
you got to trust in Jesus Christ
“...and makes flesh his arm...” (v 5).
In other words, what he thinks, what he does, it’s just what people would say is human reasoning.
“...and whose heart departs from the LORD” (v 5). Look at your life; look at it in the light of this:
Verse 6: ‘For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes. But he shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land that is not inhabited.” Your life will be like a dust bowl! On the other hand, just like Jesus said:
IF you love Me, practice My words
IF you believe in Me, you will live by them
Verse 7: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD...”
Now, in Psa. 3, it says, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.’ Do you see how the Bible puts everything together?
Verse 7: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters; it sends out its roots by the river, and it shall not fear when the heat comes, but its foliage shall be green; and he is not worried in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit” (vs 7-8).
On the other hand, I want you to think about v 9: This is one of those verses that people just don’t like to hear, and it applies to every human being with their own natural thoughts, coupled with, in today’s world, Satan who’s deceiving the whole world.
Verse 9: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”
That’s an amazing statement, isn’t it? Do you know the depths of your own sins? Think about it! Think about what we’ve covered here today! Everyone thinks they’re doing so good; yet, they’re having a benefit from Satan the devil. He wants everyone, this time of year:
to be happy
to be jolly
to be good
to be kind
They will all think that Satan’s way is marvelous indeed, and they won’t even know that they are deceived beyond understanding! That’s what we see in the world today.
Here’s what you need to know. You think you’re just living out here, cut off from God? Who gave you life? God did!
You’re still connected to God, are you not?
You still think, do you not?
Notice this, this applies to every human being who names the name of God, who names the name of Jesus.
Verse 10: “I the LORD search the heart...”
God knows! God knows! Listen: IF God knows when a sparrow falls... WHEN God knows someone is sinning:
Does He not know?
Can you hide anything from God?
Can you put it down deep in a cave below the surface of the earth? No!
Can you try and go like Elon Musk to Mars?
What are you going to find there?
What God left behind?
Verse 10: “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins...”
Now that’s an interesting statement right there. what are the reins in relationship to our own minds and our own spirit of man that we have. This is given to every human being at conception. It’s a part of your own mind that God can find out whatever you’re thinking at any time He desires.
You find this also in Rev. 3 ‘that I try the reins and the heart. New Testament doctrine. Amazing indeed!
Verse 10: “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
So, it doesn’t matter; God knows!
Let’s read what it’s like today. Let’s see what it is like in the world today and on all social media, on all news outlets, every program that there is. A lot of people say: Where is God?
Psalm 10:1: “Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?”
Doesn’t that happen?
Where is God?
He’s not going to help you in trouble until you come to Him, before the trouble comes!
Verse 2: “The wicked in his pride pursues the poor; let them be taken in the schemes that they have imagined, for the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire, and blesses the covetous but despises the LORD” (vs 2-3).
Is that not true what we see everywhere in the world today? Yes, indeed!
Verse 4: “Through the pride of his countenance the wicked will not seek God...” Isn’t that what we see? Hateful! Rioting!
You know, just recently at Loyola University in Louisiana, those who are trying to get a Turning Point USA on campus and Turning Point USA is doing a good work up to the point that they are doing it. But everybody needs to go on beyond that. They’re teaching them not to get involved in sex before marriage! Love God, believe God, and be good according to God’s way!
Now, that’s a good message for people who know nothing about God. It’s a good first step, but they have to go further.
“...the wicked will not seek God; in all his thoughts there is no place for God. His ways prosper at all times....” (vs 4-5).
They’re rich, they have money, they have everything they want!
“...He is haughty, and Your judgments are far from him. As for all his enemies, he sneers at them. He... [the wicked] ...has said in his heart, ‘I shall not be moved...’” (vs 5-6).
We’re going to change the whole society and you’re going to accept all of our Sodom and Gomorrah ways, and we are going to violate your children from the day they were born.
“...‘I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall never be in adversity.’ His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud; under his tongue are mischief and iniquity” (vs 6-7).
Boy, if that doesn’t describe the world today, I don’t know what describes the world. So, these are the times we are living in. Notice, this is what they do, right here, describing it.
Verse 8: “He sits in the hiding places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent. His eyes are on the watch for the helpless.”
Sound like trying to walk one of the streets in New York, not get burned with fire, knocked over the head by someone who hates you.
Verse 9: “He lies in wait secretly like a lion in his den. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags him off in his net.”
Isn’t that what happened on a train in Chicago? They actually had the pictures of the man going to a place where he could buy some gas and put the gas in his jar and take the gas with him and take it on the train and then he doused the woman with the gas and set her on fire. Perfect description of it! And yet, the mayor of Chicago and the governor of Illinois will not say that that’s an evil thing and we need to stop it.
They are so deluded in their evil in the Democrat party that they promote death, killing, drug addiction! Hatefulness everything they are of their father the devil.
Verse 11: “He has said in his heart, ‘God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see!’ Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up Your hand; forget not the humble. Why do the wicked spurn God? He has said in his heart, ‘You will not call into account’” (vs 11-13).
He’s going to do it
He will cause
He will intervene
He will be going to do it
What we need to do, brethren, is understand that the Bible is the very Word of God given to us:
so we can understand it
so that we can believe it
so that we can live by it
so that we can love God the Father and Jesus Christ
so that we can love each other
so that we can love our neighbors
so that we can live the Truth
so that we can teach the Truth
so that we can uphold the things of God
because the Word of God applies to everything everywhere wherever it may be
because He’s made us and created us
that’s why we have Christ coming in the flesh
that’s why we have His sacrifice as the sacrifice
So, let’s come back here to Heb. 4 and let’s finish off this message today with the Word of God and coming to God.
no one is going to escape God
no one is going to not undergo the judgment of God
no one can do anything against the Word of God
This is why we need to come to God and remember this:
Hebrews 4:12: “For the Word of God is living and powerful...” Think about that!
by the Word of God he commanded and they were created
he calls all the stars by name and by number
“...and sharper than any two edged sword...” (v 12)—because it tells you:
the evil of your heart
the evil of your mind
the evil of your action
God wants you to get rid of it by repenting and coming to Him!
“...piercing even to the dividing asunder of both soul and spirit, and of both the joints and the marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart” (v 12). So, this is what we’re facing today:
God is looking
God is knowing
God is understanding what’s going on
Compare v 13 with Psa. 10: “And there is not a created thing...”
Not the smallest little speck of what we can’t see to the largest galaxy out there that we can’t fathom for
“...there is not a created thing that is not manifest in His sight; but ALL things are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account” (v 13).
Then Paul encourages us with 14: “Having, therefore, a great High Priest, Who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, we should hold fast the confession of our faith.”
That’s what God wants us to do and all of those of you who need to come to God, you come to God on your knees in prayer and repentance and we have elders who will come and baptize you. You need to set your mind and your course to live by every Word of God as Jesus says:
Verse 15: “For we do not have a High Priest Who cannot empathize with our weaknesses, but One Who was tempted in all things according to the likeness of our own temptations; yet, He was without sin. Therefore, we should come with boldness to the Throne of Grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (vs 15-16).
In these days that are evil that’s what we need to do every day. This helps give us a of how God views the world and how He knows what’s going on. How we are coming closer and closer and closer to the time of the return of Christ and all of those in the Churches of God need to
get ready
prepare
repent
overcome
stay close to God
So, let’s hope that this message will help as many as it can and that we can all love God the way that He desires!
